LOLITA An Hispanic Teenage Doll Lolita (Little Lola) is a twenty inch cloth doll. This doll was inspired by the many, many beautiful Hispanic women that I see on the streets of New York everyday. Her costume is inspired by an award winning, cover girl doll named LOLA that was created by doll artist Sandy Wright. LOLA can be seen on the cover of the Spring/Summer 1998 edition of The Cloth Doll Magazine Artist Sandy Wright also has two award winning dolls featured in the September 2001 edition of Soft Dolls & Animals. Thank you, Sandy, for all your kindness and willingness to help me with Lolita's costume. Lolita is NFS (Not for Sale). |

| When the Parade Passes By.... Lolita sits patiently outside, in front of the building where she lives, carefully protecting her costume as she waits for the parade float that she will ride up Fifth Avenue in the big Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City. She is so excited that she can hardly breathe. |

Here it Comes! Here comes the big flowered parade float that Lolita will ride. Everyone in the neighborhood has stopped to admire her and told her how pretty her costume is. She is so glad that she pestered her Mom into making an outfit that looked at least a little something like her idol, Lola. She loves her high-heeled mules that have three straps made of black sequined flowers. They're a little hard to walk in, but she will be riding at the top of the float today. And her nails are manicured and she has rings on the fingers of both hands. Lolita has decided that she wants to be just like Lola when she grows up. It's going to be a great day! |

How Should "Cover Girls" Behave? Lolita feels so special today that she doesn't know what to do. She is so nervous that she is trying very hard not to giggle, but instead to act as "cool" as models act. But then, Lolita is only fifteen years old. |
